River Landscape with Two Scholars. Ink on gold paper, Fan Painting, in passepartout. Signature: „Painted by Qiu Ying“. One seal of the artist: „Shizhou“. Five collector’s seals. Six seals of the Qianlong Emperor (r. 1736-1795), “Qianlong yulan zhibao”, “Sanxitang jingjian xi”, “Yi zisun”, “Qianlong jianshang”, “Shiqu baoji”, “Baoji chongbian”.
South German private collection, since 1972 in the family of the present owner - Qiu Ying, style name Shizhou, was the leading professional painter in Suzhou. The crisp and crystalline brush style of this nice painting is characteristic of his art
